A dark cloud has descended over the South Sydney Rabbitohs camp as one of their rising stars, Tyrone Munro, faces serious charges from the NSW Police.
NSW Police have confirmed that Munro is facing charges related to an alleged domestic violence incident earlier this year. The investigation, led by officers from the Auburn Police Area Command, began on Monday following a report from a woman who claimed she was assaulted by her partner in April 2025.
After conducting their inquiries, police arrested the 20-year-old and brought him to the Auburn Police Station. There, he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (domestic), stalk/intimidate intending to cause fear of physical harm (domestic), and common assault (domestic).
Munro has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in Burwood Local Court on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
On Tuesday night, the Rabbitohs released an official statement addressing the situation. They confirmed that the incident had been reported to the NRL’s Integrity Unit. The statement read: "The South Sydney Rabbitohs are aware of an alleged incident and subsequent police charges against player Tyrone Munro. The Club has informed the NRL Integrity Unit about the alleged incident and the charges. The Rabbitohs take all allegations of domestic violence very seriously and will take appropriate action if the allegations and charges are proven. As this is a police matter, the Rabbitohs will be making no further comment at this stage."
